The
Pharaoh's Gold
Way over in Egypt a long time ago
lived a terrible tyrant who was the Pharaoh.
He stole from the people all the gold in the land.
He had more treasure than desert sand.
Now the Pharaoh had warned, upon his
demise,
if his treasure was taken, his mummy would rise.
So when he died and was laid in his tomb,
no one dared enter, so sure of their doom.
Except this one man who was tired of
being poor,
decided he wasn't afraid anymore.
So he went to the tomb and broke down the door,
and took all the gold that covered the floor.
Then all of a sudden he heard a slight
rumble
and all around him the walls started to crumble.
He grabbed the gold and right then he knew
the Pharaoh's threat was coming true.
He knew that mummy would hunt him down.
He needed to hide and find a new town.
The farther away, the sager he'd be,
so he sailed his boat down the Nile to the sea.
Through the sea, to the ocean and on
through.
Down more rivers he went, then the Great Lakes too.
Till he came to the shores of a place far-away.
So beautiful it was, he wanted to stay.
He thought he was safe, but it didn't
take long,
for him to find out that he was dead wrong.
The mummy had found him and planned an attack,
but the man was not going to give the gold back.
So he planted a corn field and worked
for days
then hid the treasure way deep in a maze.
The mummy went in, but never came out.
He's still in there looking for his gold, no doubt.
This ancient maze has many strange tales
like the mummy spirit that still walks the trails.
So if you dare venture in, try not to run
but be ready for some ancient Egyptian fun!
