Howard the Dragon visited the farm during the 2004 season.  Here are some before-and-after pictures of the maze from above.  His story also remains below!

Long, long ago, in a castle on a hill
There lived a clever knight whose name was simply Bill.

Now Bill wasn’t the bravest knight, in fact, he was quite a coward.
So what was he to do when into the town came a dragon named Howard.

It all happened during dusk time when the fields had just been planted.
Howard trampled all over them and the townspeople ranted.

The corn came up anyway and all was well it seemed.
Then Howard ate up all the corn and the townspeople screamed.

With a path of destruction in his wake, Howard finally mellowed.
Until he burned up the castle and the townspeople bellowed.

"Where is our knight in shining armor?" they hollered at the King!
He called for Bill and loudly said "GET RID OF THAT THING"!!

Now Bill, being a coward, had to think of something quick.
So instead of braun, he used his brain and played a little trick.

Though not brave, Bill was still a very clever man.
So he gathered up the townspeople and told them of his plan.

When the corn came up the very next year, the people were busy for days.
Little did Howard know that they turned it into a maze.

That greedy old dragon came out to feed as the light was getting dim.
Then Bill simply walked up to Howard and quietly whispered to him.

"I have a little secret the people are keeping from you.
So listen very closely before you start to chew."

"The corn on the edge of the field is very good to eat.
But it’s nothing compared to the middle, where the corn is much more sweet."

That old dragon, greedy as ever, never stopped to think,
ran as fast as he could to the middle of the field, and didn’t even blink.

And that is where that poor dragon finally ran out of luck.
He found himself in the middle of the maze and was sufficiently stuck.

He never found his way out and to this very day.
Wanders around the corn maze trying to find his way.

So if you venture in it, be careful at every turn.
Watch out for that ol’ dragon, he can give you quite a burn.
